Comments: This monster Paleo is made
some beautiful jet black river stain Coastal Plains Chert.
Paleo Points in the large size are exceptionally rare.
This point exhibits collateral flaking with cross over
flaking present on one side. The base and the lateral edges
are heavily ground for 1 1/2 " up the sides.

was found near Fanning Springs
on the Suwannee River. Bull Tongue Simpsons

are heavily ground.

Comments: This beautiful
water polished classic Clovis is made of
a deep red to mahogany translucent Chert.
Nice percussion flaking with a ground
base and lateral sides.
The flute channels are
fairly well defined too.
I was there when this one was found
and can provide excellent provenance.

Fluted Clovis

Comments: Here is a killer Clovis
if ever there was one. Nice fluting scars
running up the blade from the base.
Grinding along the base and lateral edges
is so pronounced that it shows well in contrast
to the rest of the blade. Made of Fort Payne's Chert.
Found in a creek that feeds into the Tombigbee River.
A beautiful Early Man Point.

Comments: Nice wide shiny Clovis made of Coastal Plains Chert.
Picture don't do this one justice, for instance;
what you can't see in the pictures is the sand polish.
This high gloss is from thousands
of years of contact with sand.
The base is ground and the flaking is superb.
This point exhibits small thinning flutes
along with excellent collateral flaking.
