Suwannee Blade

  4"

Hillsborough Co. Florida

Comments: This awesome blade was found

6 1/2 feet deep at the Harris Grove Site.

I believe you are viewing here a Suwannee

Knife. The flaking is Paleo but the base

has only slight abrading. The flare out

on the base makes it look ancient

and primitive like a Suwannee.

Made of translucent orange and

green Coastal Plains Chert.

Double Fluted Clovis or Cumberland?

  3  1/2"

 Suwannee Co. Florida

Comments: This beautiful masterpiece of Paleo technology was found

in the Suwannee River Valley. The flutes are 3/4" on one side and

over 1 1/4"on the opposite side. The extremely narrow waist is similar

to Simpsons, but Simpsons are not fluted as they postdate fluted points.

Cumberlands are made this way yet they are found far to the north

in the Tennessee River Valley. Not really a Ross Co Style either.

What I can say is that this was made during the Clovis period.

Made of highly polished burnt orange Coastal Plains Chert.

Another extremely rare "Collectors Grade" point
